সাংবাদিকের ওপর হামলাকারীদের কোন ছাড় নেই : পুলিশ সুপার

চট্টগ্রামের জঙ্গল সলিমপুর এলাকায় সংবাদ সংগ্রহকালে দুই সাংবাদিকের ওপর হামলাকারীরা যত প্রভাবশালীই হোক তাদের কোন ছাড় দেওয়া হবেনা বলে জানিয়েছেন পুলিশ সুপার সাইফুল ইসলাম সানতু। মঙ্গলবার জেলা পুলিশ সুপার কার্যালয়ে চট্টগ্রাম টেলিভিশন রিপোর্টার্স নেটওয়ার্ক এর পক্ষ থেকে স্মারকলিপি গ্রহণকালে তিনি এ কথা বলেন।
গত ৫ অক্টোবর জঙ্গল সলিমপুর এলাকায় সংবাদ সংগ্রহ করতে গেলে সন্ত্রাসীদের হামলার শিকার হন এখন টেলিভিশন এর ব্যুরো প্রধান হোসাইন জিয়াদ ও ক্যামেরাপার্সন পারভেজ রহমান।
পুলিশ সুপার বলেন, সাংবাদিকদের ওপর হামলার ঘটনায় জড়িতদের বিরুদ্ধে দলমতের ঊর্ধ্বে থেকে আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে এবং আইন তার নিজস্ব গতিতেই চলবে।
তিনি আরও বলেন, চট্টগ্রামের জঙ্গল সলিমপুর এলাকাটি এখন সন্ত্রাসীদের অভয়ারণ্যে পরিণত হয়েছে, যা আমাদের জন্য বড় চ্যালেঞ্জ। এছাড়াও পাহাড়ের আঞ্চলিক বাহিনীগুলোর সঙ্গে চট্টগ্রামের জঙ্গল সলিমপুরের সন্ত্রাসীদের যোগসূত্র তৈরি হয়েছে যা দেশের সার্বিক নিরাপত্তার জন্য হুমকি।
এ সময় তিনি সন্ত্রাসীদের মুখোশ উন্মোচনে সাংবাদিকদের সহযোগিতা কামনা করেন।

সভায় হামলার শিকার সাংবাদিক হোসাইন জিয়াদ জঙ্গল সলিমপুরে সংঘটিত হামলার বিস্তারিত বর্ণনা তুলে ধরে বলেন, এ ধরনের ঘটনা সাংবাদিকদের নিরাপত্তা ও পেশাগত স্বাধীনতার ওপর সরাসরি আঘাত।
