ব্যাংককে বিমসটেক সম্মেলনের সাইডলাইনে বাংলাদেশের প্রধান উপদেষ্টা অধ্যাপক ড. মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস ও ভারতের প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদির মধ্যে শুক্রবার দ্বিপাক্ষিক বৈঠক হবে বলে নিশ্চিত করেছেন প্রধান উপদেষ্টার প্রেস সচিব শফিকুল আলম।
অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন সরকারের দায়িত্ব গ্রহণের পর এই প্রথমবারের মত অধ্যাপক ইউনূসের সঙ্গে নরেন্দ্র মোদির বৈঠক হতে চলেছে।
প্রধান উপদেষ্টার প্রেস সচিব শফিকুল আলম বৃহস্পতিবার বাসসকে বলেন, ‘বাংলাদেশ ও ভারত দুই দেশের সরকার প্রধানের মধ্যে আগামীকাল বৈঠক হবে’।
তিনি জানান, ব্যাংককে আজ বিমসটেক সম্মেলনের নৈশভোজে দুই নেতার সাক্ষাৎ হয় এবং তারা কুশলাদি বিনিময় করেন।
নৈশভোজে উভয় নেতাকে বেশ কিছু সময় ধরে ঘনিষ্ঠভাবে কথা বলতে দেখা গেছে।
বঙ্গোপসাগরীয় দেশগুলোর আঞ্চলিক সহযোগিতা জোটের (বিমসটেক) শীর্ষ সম্মেলন উপলক্ষে অধ্যাপক ইউনূস ও নরেন্দ্র মোদি বর্তমানে ব্যাংককে অবস্থান করছেন।
