ভোজ্যতেল ও চিনির দাম বাড়ানো যাবে না : বাণিজ্য উপদেষ্টা

ভোজ্যতেল ও চিনির এলসি খোলা ও এলসি মার্জিন কমানোর বিষয়ে পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হবে উল্লেখ করে বাণিজ্য উপদেষ্টা ড. সালেহ উদ্দিন আহমেদ বলেন, কোনোভাবেই পণ্যের দাম বাড়ানো যাবে না। ব্যবসা বাণিজ্যে ব্যাড (খারাপ) প্রাক্টিস কমাতে হবে। আজ মঙ্গলবার ঢাকার আগারগাঁওয়ে পরিকল্পনা কমিশনে বাংলাদেশের বৃহৎ ছয় ভোজ্যতেল ও চিনি পরিশোধনকারী ব্যবসায়ীদের সাথে মতবিনিময়কালে উপদেষ্টা এসব কথা বলেন।
উপদেষ্টা বলেন, আমাদের দেশে নিত্যপণ্যের মধ্যে তেল ও চিনির ব্যাপক ব্যবহার হয়ে থাকে। এগুলোর সরবরাহ চেইন সচল রাখা এবং জনগণের কাছে যৌক্তিক মূল্যে পৌঁছে দেওয়া বর্তমান সরকারের চাওয়া। এক্ষেত্রে ব্যবসায়ীদের সহযোগিতা প্রয়োজন। প্রতি কেজি চিনিতে ব্যবসায়ীদের ৪২ টাকা ভ্যাট ও অন্যান্য ট্যাক্স পরিশোধ করতে হয়। এটা অন্যায্য উল্লেখ করে ভোজ্যতেল ও চিনি পরিশোধনকারী ব্যবসায়ীগণ বলেন, পৃথিবীর অন্য কোনো দেশে এরকম নাই। বিদ্যমান ভ্যাট ও ট্যাক্স পুনর্নির্ধারণের দাবি জানিয়ে তাঁরা দেশে নিত্যপণ্যের চাহিদা ও মজুত পরিস্থিতি সম্পর্কে বাণিজ্য উপদেষ্টাকে অবহিত করেন।
