চট্টগ্রামে মায়ের কোল থেকে নালায় পড়ে শিশু নিখোঁজ

চট্টগ্রাম নগরীর চকবাজার কাপাসগোলা এলাকায় ব্যাটারী রিকশা থেকে নালায় ছিটকে পড়ে মায়ের কোলে থাকা ছয় মাসের এক শিশু নিখোঁজ হয়েছে। শুক্রবার রাত আটটার দিকে এ ঘটনা ঘটে। ফায়ার সার্ভিসের ডুবুরিরা শিশুটিকে উদ্ধারে অভিযান চালাচ্ছে। নিখোঁজ শিশুটির নাম সেহরীশ বলে জানা গেছে।
প্রত্যক্ষদর্শীরা জানান, রাত আটটার দিকে একটি ব্যাটারী রিকশা কাপাসগোলা নবাব হোটেলের পাশে মহিলা যাত্রী ও তার শিশু সন্তানসহ নালায় পড়ে যায়। স্থানীয় লোকজন ওই মহিলাকে উদ্ধার করলেও শিশুটিকে পাওয়া যায়নি।
খবর পেয়ে ফায়ার সার্ভিস ও সিভিল ডিফেন্সের কর্মীরা সেখানে পৌঁছে। ঘটনাস্থলে ছুটে যান সিটি মেয়র ডা. শাহাদাত হোসেন। তাঁর নির্দেশে সিটি কর্পোরেশনের পরিচ্ছন্নতা কর্মীরা নালা থেকে বর্জ্য অপসারণের শুরু করে। একই সঙ্গে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের ডুবুরি দল সেখানে উদ্ধার অভিযান চালাতে থাকে। সামাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যমে এ ঘটনার খবর ছড়িয়ে পড়ার পর সেখানে কৌতুহলী জনতার ভিড় জমে। শৃঙ্খলা রক্ষায় সেখানে যোগ দেন পুলিশ ও সেনাবাহিনীর টিম। রাত পৌনে বারোটায় এ রিপোর্ট লেখা পর্যন্ত উদ্ধার অভিযান অব্যাহত ছিল।
চন্দনপুরা ফায়ার স্টেশনের কর্মকর্তা আলোক চাকমা জানান, নালায় পড়ে যাওয়া রিকশাটি উদ্ধার করা হলেও রাত পৌনে বারোটা পর্যন্ত শিশুটির সন্ধান মিলেনি।
