বিনি সুতার মালার বন্ধনে বৃহস্পতিবার থেকে কর্ণফুলী নদীতে শুরু হয়েছে তিন দিনের সাম্পান খেলা ও চাঁটগাইয়া সংস্কৃতি মেলা।
সকাল নয়টায় নগরীর সদরঘাট থেকে এই অনুষ্ঠান মালার শুরু হয়। ভাসমান মঞ্চে সদরঘাট থেকে পটিয়া বোয়ালখালী ও কালুরঘাট এলাকার এক ঘাট থেকে অন্যঘাটে ঘুরে ঘুরে চট্টগ্রামের বিশিষ্ট শিল্পীদের গান আবৃত্তি দিয়ে ৫০ কিলোমিটার ব্যাপী উভয় তীরের নদী তীরের বাসিন্দা ও নদী ব্যবহারকারীদের সচেতনতা ও প্রীতির বন্ধনে গাথা হয় বিনি সুতার মালা।
চট্টগ্রাম ইতিহাস সংস্কৃতি গবেষণা কেন্দ্রের চেয়ারম্যান আলীউর রহমানের সভাপতিত্বে অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি ছিলেন চট্টগ্রাম দক্ষিণ জেলা বিএনপি সিনিয়র যুগ্ম আহবায়ক আলহাজ¦ মোঃ আলী আব্বাস।
অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতির বক্তব্যে গবেষক আলীউর রহমান বলেন, কর্ণফুলী নদী দূর্বৃত্তদের কাছে সোনার ডিম পাড়া রাজ হাস। এই পর্যন্ত দখলদারদের পাঁচটি রিট মামলার রায়ে অবৈধ স্থাপনা উচ্ছেদের নির্দেশনা বহাল রাখা হয়েছে। কিন্তু তারা এতো প্রভাবশালী একই বিষয়ে বার বার রিট করেই চলেছে। তাদের সাথে যুক্ত হয়েছে রাজনৈতিক প্রভাববিস্তারকারী কিছু আইনজীবি। এই অবস্থা চলতে থাকলে কর্ণফুলী একদিন বুড়িগঙ্গায় পরিণত হবে।
