রাজধানীর উত্তরায় মাইলস্টোন স্কুল অ্যান্ড কলেজে বিমানবাহিনীর যুদ্ধবিমান বিধ্বস্তের ঘটনায় ২০ জন নিহত হয়েছে। আহত অবস্থায় বিভিন্ন হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন রয়েছে আরো ১৭১ জন। নিহতদের বেশির ভাগই শিক্ষার্থী। সোমবার (২১ জুলাই) রাতে এক বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এসব তথ্য জানিয়েছে আন্তঃবাহিনী জনসংযোগ পরিদপ্তর (আইএসপিআর)।
সোমবার (২১ জুলাই) দুপুরে উত্তরার দিয়াবাড়ী এলাকায় মাইলস্টোন কলেজের ক্যান্টিনের ছাদে এই বিমানটি বিধ্বস্ত হয়।
আন্তঃবাহিনী জনসংযোগ পরিদপ্তর (আইএসপিআর) জানায়, বাংলাদেশ বিমানবাহিনীর একটি এফ-৭ বিজিআই প্রশিক্ষণ বিমান দুপুর ১টা ৬ মিনিটে উড্ডয়নের কিছুক্ষণের মধ্যেই দুর্ঘটনার কবলে পড়ে।
এদিকে জানা গেছে, বিমান বিধ্বস্তের ঘটনায় আহতদের বিভিন্ন হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসা দেওয়া হচ্ছে। দুর্ঘটনায় গুরুতর দগ্ধ প্রত্যেকেই আশঙ্কাজনক অবস্থায় রয়েছেন বলে জানিয়েছেন জাতীয় বার্ন ইনস্টিটিউটের আবাসিক সার্জন ডা. শাওন বিন রহমান।
তিনি জানান, আহত শিক্ষার্থীদের বেশিরভাগই দগ্ধ অবস্থায় হাসপাতালে এসেছে। তাদের বার্ন ইন্সটিটিউট, কুর্মিটোলা হাসপাতাল, ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতাল, সম্মিলিত সামরিক হাসপাতাল ও উত্তরার আধুনিক হাসপাতালসহ বিভিন্ন হাসপাতালে ভর্তি রয়েছে। এদের মধ্যে কুয়েত মৈত্রী হাসপাতাল ৮ জন, জাতীয় বার্ন ইনস্টিটিউটে ৭০ জন, ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে ৩জন, ঢাকা সিএমএইচে ১৭ জন, কুর্মিটোলা জেনারেল হসপিটালে ১ জন, লুবনা জেনারেল হাসপাতাল অ্যান্ড কার্ডিয়াক সেন্টারে ১১ জন, উত্তরা আধুনিক হসপিটালে ৬০ জন, উত্তরা ক্রিসেন্ট হাসপাতালে ১জন চিকিৎসাধীন রয়েছে।
