চট্টগ্রাম নগরীর চকবাজার কাপাসগোলা এলাকায় ব্যাটারী রিকশা থেকে নালায় পড়ে নিখোঁজ হওয়া শিশু সেহরীজের মরদেহ উদ্ধার হয়েছে। শনিবার সকালে নগরীর শুটকিপট্টি এলাকায় চাক্তাই খালে মরদেহটি ভেসে উঠে।
ফায়ার সার্ভিস সূত্র জানায়, শনিবার (১৯ এপ্রিল) সকাল সাড়ে নয়টার দিকে স্থানীয় লোকজন শুটকিপট্টি এলাকায় চাক্তাই খালে একটি শিশুর মরদেহ ভাসতে দেখে। এরপর মাসুদ নামে এক লোক খাল থেকে মরদেহটি উদ্ধার করে।
শিশুর মরদেহ উদ্ধারের খবর পেয়ে কোতোয়ালী থানা পুলিশ ও ফায়ার সার্ভিসের লোকজন শুটকি পট্টি পৌঁছে। এসব প্রচুর লোকজন সেখানে শিশুটিকে একবার দেখার জন্য ভিড় জমায়। সকাল সাড়ে দশটার দিকে শিশুটির পিতা শহীদ সেখানে পৌঁছে এবং মরদেহ সনাক্ত করে। কোতোয়ালী থানার ওসি আবদুল করিম সেহরীজের মরদেহ উদ্ধারের বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছে।
শুক্রবার রাত আটটার দিকে নগরীর চকবাজার কাপাসগোলা এলাকায় একটি ব্যাটারী চালিত রিকশা তিন যাত্রী সহ নালায় পড়ে যায়। এসময় দুই যাত্রী নালা থেকে উদ্ধার হলেও ছয় মাসের শিশু সেহরীজ নিখোঁজ হয়ে যায়। ফায়ার সার্ভিসের উদ্ধারকারী দল গভীর রাত পর্যন্ত সেখানে অভিযান চালিয়েও শিশুটির সন্ধান পায়নি। শনিবার সকালে নৌবাহিনীর ডুবুরি দলও সেখানে উদ্ধার অভিযান চালায়।
