২০৩৫ নারী বিশ্বকাপ যুক্তরাজ্যে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে । ফিফা সভাপতি গিয়ান্নি ইনফান্তিনো বৃহস্পতিবার এ ঘোষনা দিয়েছেন।
বেলগ্রেডে অনুষ্ঠিত উয়েফার কংগ্রেসে ইনফান্তিনো বলেন, ‘আজ আমরা ২০৩১ বিশ্বকাপে জন্য একটি বিড গ্রহন করেছি এবং ২০৩৫ বিশ্বকাপের জন্য বৈধ বিড পেয়েছি। এর মধ্যে ২০৩১ বিডটি যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের এবং কনকাকাফের আরো কিছু সদস্য দেশ এখানে থাকার সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। ৩৫’র বিড এসেছে ইউরোপ থেকে।’
ইনফান্তিনো আরো জানিয়েছেন ২০৩১ টুর্ণামেন্ট থেকে নারী বিশ্বকাপের অংশগ্রহণকারী দলের সংখ্যা ৩২ থেকে বাড়িয়ে ৪৮ করার পরিকল্পনা করা হচ্ছে।
এর আগে ইংল্যান্ড, স্কটল্যান্ড, ওয়েলস ও নর্দান আয়ারল্যান্ড গত মাসে বিশ্বকাপ আয়োজনের আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করেছিল। তারই ধারাবাহিকতায় আজ এই ঘোষনা আসলো।
বিশ্ব ফুটবলের নিয়ন্ত্রন সংস্থা ফিফা গত মাসে জানিয়েছে তারা ইউরোপ অথবা আফ্রিকা থেকে ২০৩৫ সালের বিডকে স্বাগত জানাবে। ২০২৬ সালের দ্বিতীয় কোয়ার্টারে অনুষ্ঠিতব্য কংগ্রেসে স্বাগতিক শহরগুলোর নাম ঘোষনা করা হবে।
