নববর্ষের শোভাযাত্রা উদযাপনের জন্য বানানো ফ্যাসিবাদের মুখাকৃতি ও শান্তির পায়রা মোটিফ রহস্যজনক আগুনে পুড়ে গেছে। শনিবার ভোরে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের (ঢাবি) চারুকলা অনুষদে এ আগুনের ঘটনা ঘটে।
ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রক্টর সাইফুদ্দিন আহমেদ বলেন, ভোর পৌনে পাঁচটা থেকে পাঁচটার মধ্যে আগুন লেগেছে বলে ধারণা করা হচ্ছে। ওইসময় দায়িত্বরত মোবাইল টিমের সদস্যরা ফজরের নামাজ আদায়ের জন্য গিয়েছিলেন।
জুলাই- আগস্ট গণঅভ্যুত্থানের চেতনাকে সামনে রেখে এবার নববর্ষের প্রতিপাদ্য ঠিক করা হয়েছে ‘নববর্ষের ঐকতান, ফ্যাসিবাদের অবসান’। এই প্রতিপাদ্যকে সামনে রেখে এ বছরের প্রধান মোটিফ ছিল ‘ফ্যাসিবাদের মুখাকৃতি।’ এটির উচ্চতা ২০ ফুট। এই মোটিফে বাঁশ ও বেত দিয়ে দাঁতাল মুখের এক নারীর মুখাবয়ব বানানো হয়। মাথায় খাঁড়া চারটি শিং, হাঁ করা মুখ, বিশালাকৃতির নাক ও ভয়ার্ত দুটি চোখ।
জানা যায়, অনুষদের যেখানে মোটিফ তৈরির কাজ চলছিল সেখানে আগুনে দানবীয় ফ্যাসিবাদী মুখাকৃতির মোটিফটি পুরোপুরি পুড়ে গেছে। শান্তির পায়রা মোটিফটিও আংশিক পুড়ে গেছে।
