বাংলাদেশে ক্লিনিক্যাল ট্রায়ালের অনুমোদন পেল কোভ্যাক্সিন

করোনাভাইরাস সংক্রমণ প্রতিরোধে ভারতের নিজস্ব উদ্ভাবিত টিকা কোভ্যাক্সিন বাংলাদেশে ট্রায়ালের অনুমোদন দেওয়া হয়েছে। বাংলাদেশ মেডিকেল অ্যান্ড রিসার্চ কাউন্সিল (বিএমআরসি) এ অনুমোদন দিয়েছে।
আজ মঙ্গলবার (৩ আগস্ট) সকালে বাংলাদেশ চিকিৎসা গবেষণা পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান অধ্যাপক ডা. সৈয়দ মোদাচ্ছের আলী বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন।
তিনি বলেন, কিছুদিন আগেই কোভ্যাক্সিন টিকা দেশে ট্রায়ালের অনুমোদন চাওয়া হয়েছে। সম্পূর্ণ বৈজ্ঞানিক তথ্য এবং যুক্তির ওপর ভিত্তি করে আমরা এ অনুমোদন দিয়েছি। এই টিকার ট্রায়ালে আর কোনো বাধা নেই।
আন্তর্জাতিক উদরাময় গবেষণা কেন্দ্র, বাংলাদেশ (আইসিডিডিআরবি) বেশ কয়েক মাস আগে এই টিকা ট্রায়ালের জন্য বিএমআরসির কাছে অনুমতি চেয়েছিলো। আইসিডিডিআরবির বিজ্ঞানী কে জামান এ ট্রায়ালের প্রধান গবেষক। তবে কবে নাগাদ ট্রায়াল শুরু হবে, সেই বিষয় এখনও নিশ্চিত হওয়া যায়নি।
