রাজধানীর বসুন্ধরা সিটি থেকে গত ১৫মার্চ গ্রেফতার করা হয় চট্টগ্রামের শীর্ষ সন্ত্রাসী ছোট সাজ্জাদকে। সঙ্গে থাকা স্ত্রী তামান্না ওই সময় দাবি করেছিল আরেক সন্ত্রাসী সারোয়ারই সাজ্জাদকে ধরিয়ে দিয়েছে। গ্রেফতারের পরদিন সামাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যমে ছড়িয়ে পড়া এক ভিডিওতে সাজ্জাদের প্রতিপক্ষকে উদ্দেশ্যে করে তামান্না বলেছিলেন ‘খেলা শুরু করেছো তোমরা, আর খেলা শেষ করবো আমরা।’

সেদিনের ঘটনায় নিহত দু’জন হলেন বখতেয়ার হোসেন মানিক ও আবদুল্লাহ। একই সঙ্গে প্রাইভেট কারে থাকা সারোয়ার বাবলা প্রতিপক্ষের এলোপাথাড়ি গুলির মধ্যেও কৌশলে নেমে পালিয়ে যেতে সক্ষম হয়েছেন।
মঙ্গলবার (১এপ্রিল) সন্ধ্যায় নগরীর বাকলিয়া থানায় নিহত বখতিয়ার হোসেন মানিকের মা ফিরোজা বেগম বাদী হয়ে এ ঘটনায় মামলা দায়ের করেছেন। মামলায় কারাবন্দী সন্ত্রাসী সাজ্জাদ, তার স্ত্রী তামান্নাসহ মোট ৭জনকে আসামী করা হয়েছে। অন্য আসামীরা হলেন- মোহাম্মদ হাছান, মোবারক হোসেন ইমন, খোরশেদ, রায়হান ও বোরহান।
মামলার এজহারে বলা হয়, সারোয়ার হোসেন বাবলার গাড়ির চালক হিসেবে কর্মরত ছিলেন নিহত মানিক। আর সারোয়ারের ব্যক্তিগত কাজকর্ম করতেন নিহত আবদুল্লাহ। গত ২৯ মার্চ দিবাগত রাতে প্রাভেটকারে করে নতুন ব্রিজ এলাকায় আড্ডা দিচ্ছিলেন মানিক, সারোয়ার, আবদুল্লাহ, রবিন, হৃদয় ও ইমন। নতুন ব্রিজ থেকে বাড়ি ফেরার জন্য বহদ্দারহাটের দিকে রওয়ানা হলে রাত ২টার দিকে রাজাখালী ব্রিজের ওপর পৌঁছামাত্র ৬-৭টি মোটরসাইকেল থেকে প্রাইভেটকার লক্ষ্য করে গুলি চালাতে থাকে। গুলিতে গাড়ির পেছনের গ্লাস ছিদ্র হয়ে যায়। তখন মানিক বহদ্দারহাটের দিকে না গিয়ে বাকলিয়া এক্সেস রোড দিয়ে চকবাজারের দিকে যায়। সোয়া ২টার দিকে চকবাজার থানার নবাব সিরাজউদ্দৌলা সড়কে মানিক গুলিবিদ্ধ অবস্থায় গাড়ি থামায়। গাড়ির পেছনে থাকা হাছান, ইমন, বোরহান, খোরশেদ ও রায়হানসহ অজ্ঞাতনামা ৬-৭ জন তাদের হাতে থাকা অস্ত্র দিয়ে এলোপাতাড়ি গুলি করে। গুলিতে মানিক ও আবদুল্লাহ জখম হয়। গাড়িতে থাকা সারোয়ার এবং ইমন কৌশলে নেমে যায়৷ এরপর গুলি ছুঁড়তে থাকা আসামিরা ঘটনাস্থল ত্যাগ করে। মানিক ও আবদুল্লাহকে চট্টগ্রাম মেডিকেল কলেজ (চমেক) হাসপাতালে নিয়ে গেলে কর্তব্যরত চিকিৎসক তাদের মৃত ঘোষণা করেন। আসামি সাজ্জাদ এবং তার স্ত্রী তামান্নার পূর্বপরিকল্পনা অনুযায়ী আসামিরা সারোয়ার হোসেন বাবলা ও তার ছেলেসহ অন্যদের হত্যা করার জন্য নতুন ব্রিজ এলাকা থেকে প্রাইভেটকারটির পিছু নেন বলে বাদী এজহারে উল্লেখ করেন।
জানা যায়, সন্ত্রাসী ছোট সাজ্জাদ ও সারোয়ার হোসেন বাবলার মধ্যে দীর্ঘদিন ধরে আধিপত্যের বিরোধ চলে আসছে। রাজধানীর বসুন্ধরা সিটি থেকে গত মাসে সাজ্জাদ গ্রেফতার হবার নেপথ্যে সারোয়ারের হাত রয়েছে বলে দাবি করেছিল সাজ্জাদের স্ত্রী তামান্না।
ঘটনাস্থলে গুলিবিদ্ধ অবস্থায় বেঁচে যাওয়া রবিনও সেদিন বলেছিলেন, সাজ্জাদের সঙ্গে সারোয়ারের আগে থেকে দ্বন্দ্ব ছিল। সম্প্রতি সাজ্জাদের গ্রেপ্তার এবং রাজনীতির নিয়ন্ত্রণ নিয়ে দুজনের মধ্যে ঝামেলা বেড়েছে। তাই সাজ্জাদের লোকজন সারোয়ারকে খুন করতে এ হামলা চালাতে পারে।
