আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনালের সাবেক প্রসিকিউটর ব্যারিস্টার তুরিন আফরোজকে গ্রেফতার করেছে উত্তরা পশ্চিম থানা পুলিশ। সোমবার রাত ১০টার দিকে উত্তরা ৩ নম্বর সেক্টরের ১১ নম্বর রোডের বাসায় অভিযান চালিয়ে তাঁকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়।
উত্তরা পশ্চিম থানার ওসি মো. হাফিজুর রহমান জানান, উত্তরা পশ্চিম থানা ছাড়াও নীলফামারিতে তার বিরুদ্ধে একাধিক মামলা রয়েছে। সোমবার রাত ১০টার দিকে উত্তরা ৩ নম্বর সেক্টরের ১১ নম্বর রোডের ৭ নম্বর রোডের বাসাটিতে অভিযান শুরু করে উত্তরা পশ্চিম থানা পুলিশ।
তুরিন আফরোজ ২০১৩ সালের ফেব্রুয়ারিতে আফরোজকে আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনালের প্রসিকিউটর নিযুক্ত করা হয়। তিনি জামায়াত নেতা আলী আহসান মোহাম্মদ মুজাহিদ এবং গোলাম আযমের বিরুদ্ধে মামলা পরিচালনা করেন। ২০১৮ সালে মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের মামলার এক আসামির সঙ্গে গোপন বৈঠকের অভিযোগের পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে ২০১৯ সালের নভেম্বরে আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনালের প্রসিকিউটর পদ থেকে তুরিন আফরোজকে অব্যাহতি দেওয়া হয়।
